The group Heeyam,
Arabic for supreme love, is headed
by Israeli Sufi singer Shye Ben-Tzur
and consists of Indian and Israeli
musicians.
The group is
described as a "mystical gathering
of Hindus, Muslims and Jews rolled
into one musical celebration sharing
the vision of unity through the
music".
Shye has been
living in India for the past five
years among the Muslim community
studying Sufi music and culture.
Shye is the
composer of the Qawwali trance, sang
in Hebrew,& Urdu, fusion of
devotional Sufi poems,& modern Sufi
words. The music is a fusion between
traditional instruments,& electronic
sounds of today.
Udi Ben Knan
plays Lira, and Midi guitar.
The world’s sole
Hebrew Qawalli composer recently
performed at Jahan-e-Khusrau, the
4th international Sufi festival held
in Delhi, India.The Band.
